67 KALENDER (Bosphorus Passenger Ferry): It was built in 1911 in Newcastle, England, at the Hawtorn – Leslie bench with its twin sister Güzelhisar. 453 gross ton, 47 meters long, 8 meters wide, 3.1 meters water section of the sheet metal boat; There were 2 triple (3-cylinder) steam engines with 440 horsepower built in Wallsend. With a passenger capacity of 970 in summer and 790 in winter, the ferry had a maximum speed of 12.5 miles. It has served uninterruptedly for 75 years. Kalender, which was used to show tourists in 1978, was transformed into a mobile Atatürk museum in 1981 and was dismantled in 1986. One of its main machines is still in the Rahmi M. Koç museum.
About Shipyard Model
In 1990, he became a partner in the company, which was named Boğaziçi Modeling and Modeling Company. The company, which produces especially wooden ship models, produced kits for many Turkish ships, and became a member of the Ship Modelers and Ship Lovers Association on the same dates.
Between 1991 and 1197, he worked as a Ship Modeling teacher at the Turkish Naval Forces Naval Petty Officer Preparatory School and at the Naval High School. He participated as a jury member in the General Staff Military School Model Competitions for many years.
Between 1998 and 2002, he became a partner of Rota Model Hobby. One of the kits they produced won the “Best Design Kit” award and received a Gold medal in a competition held in the United States. In 2002, he founded the Shipyard Model & Model company, which is still in production.
